Resetting Microsoft Account Password

If you have forgotten your Microsoft account password, follow these steps to reset it:

Go to the Microsoft account password reset page.
Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Microsoft account.
Enter the characters you see on the screen and click "Next."
Choose how you want to receive your security code (email or phone) and click "Next."
Enter the security code you received and click "Next."
Enter your new password and click "Next".

Changing MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

If you need to change your multi-factor authentication, follow these steps:

Go to the Security basics page and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Select "Add sign-in method"
Select "Choose a method" and then "Authenticator app".
Follow the prompts to turn off two-step verification.

Follow the on-screen instructions, including using your mobile device to scan the QR code, and then select Next. You'll be asked to approve a notification through the Microsoft Authenticator app, to verify your information.
Select "Save"
